Apollo 10
50th Anniversary Virtual Race
5K / 10K / 15K
When?
May 18–26, 2019
Where?
Wherever you want!
Apollo 10 was the last training mission before getting to the surface of the moon and just as it was a training event for the moon landing, so is this race! We have created this event as a training race to help you stay on track with your goals and get you ready for the main event in the Moon Landing Race Series later in 2019 (The Moon Landing Race).
Many are surprised to learn that Apollo 10 came within 9 miles of the surface of the moon. This was effectually a "dress rehearsal" for the first moon landing two months later. The purpose of this mission was to test all of the components and procedures, without actually landing on the lunar surface.
Because this mission was successful, astronauts were able to make Apollo 11 THE Moon landing. Join us in this race celebrating 50 years since this success and stay on track for your goals - big or small.

Other Important Details
Official race week is May 18–26th. Registration will be open through that week as supplies last. We anticipate that most people will race that week - BUT - the advantage of having a virtual race is you can do it when and where works best for you. So it’s up to you. Because we strive to honor the tradition of in-person races, you’ll receive messages as if that is race day for you, but just know that we’re okay with it if you need to do something different.
To maintain the spirit of traditional events, we believe a finisher reward should be earned by finishing the race. We verify that you finished by requiring that you report your time to your account. If you do not report, YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A REWARD.
