Running a virtual race is simple. Here is a step by step guide to participate!
Step 1: Register for a race
When you register, you will have the option to choose whether you want a shirt or a medal or both. Opting out of either will save you money!
Step 2: Train for the race
You should train for a virtual race just like any other running event.
Step 3: Receive race shirt in the mail
You will receive your race shirt in the week prior to race day. You should receive an email with a USPS tracking number about 7-10 days before the race.
Step 4: Select your course
You can test yourself on a familiar training course, or go exploring and find something new! Some runners choose to “double dip” and complete their virtual race while also competing in a traditional race. 2-for-1!
Step 5: Run
Make sure to keep track of your time using a fancy GPS watch, your smart phone or any other method that makes sense to you.
Step 6: Participate on social media
Each race has its own hashtag. We encourage you to use it whenever tweeting or instagramming. We will compile all the pictures with that hashtag into an awesome slideshow after each race and you don’t want to be left out.
Step 7: Report
Don’t forget to report your time! You must report your time to receive your race medal. Posting on social media or emailing us does not count as reporting. You must use our form.
Step 8: Win Awards
After the race we’ll announce awards. We do not award the fastest times, but we award prizes for best/prettiest pictures as well as some random prizes.
Step 9: Receive medal in the mail
After the race we’ll announce awards. We do not award the fastest times, but we award prizes for best/prettiest pictures as well as some random prizes.
