Virtual Running Club provides virtual running events for anyone and everyone. With a variety of event themes, you can create your perfect race day with a distance, location and swag that is exactly what you are looking for.

Our mission is to provide virtual running events that inspire and motivate you to be active and provide a sense of accomplishment. Whether your goal is to run a marathon or walk 15 minutes each day, we're here cheering you on.
What are virtual races and challenges?
Virtual races and challenges are versatile events that give you the flexibility to run, walk, hike, row, bike, elliptical, skate, swim, or roll anywhere and anytime. Whether you're looking to elevate your training for your next in person race or find motivation and accountability to start moving, we have an event for you.
Our virtual races are intended to be completed in a single occasion. In almost all of our virtual races, you will select a distance – 5k, 10k, or half marathon – and complete it within the given date range. During registration you will select your distance and race swag. Where and when you complete your race is entirely up to you!
Our challenges are for you to complete over a long period of time. The goal of a challenge is to stay consistent with your movement and feel accomplished. Challenges are a great way to establish a fitness habit or keep up with training for an in-person race. With challenges, you will be rewarded for achieving milestones along the way!
Virtual races and challenges are versatile events. You can complete them in your movement method of choice. Running is great, but so is walking, biking, dancing, swimming, rollerblading, rucking...
We find some of our participants like to do multiple Virtual Running Club events at once. If you want apply to your miles to multiple events, you have our full permission to do so. Choose whatever works best for you!
Reporting details are included on each individual event page. Our reporting is always on the honor system. Each event that includes reporting will ask you to submit your distance, time, or activity completed.
They absolutely do! We design unique medals and swag for each of our events to help you celebrate your accomplishments.
We are very happy to contribute a portion of each registration to causes that we feel make the world a better place. Organizations our events have benefitted include The Wander Project, Make a Wish, Sierra Club, Sesame Street's Yellow Feather Fund, National Park Foundation, and Denali Education Center.
We sure do! Connect with us through the private Facebook group for Virtual Running Club participants or one of our smaller, niche groups for certain event themes. These are forums to post your fitness accomplishments and provide encouragement to other members of the Virtual Running Club community.
When I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia over five years ago, I thought my race days were over.
The Get to Sesame Street Challenge has motivated me to get up each morning and do what I can - and over time I've been able to do more and more.
I'm now running 3 miles on most days and the possibility of doing an in-person race is becoming a reality.
